Astor Piazzolla & Gerry Mulligan.

A great session from 1974, recorded in Milan, with baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan and the guru of the tango Astor Piazzolla. The low range of the baritone works wonders with the sad, melancholic, nostalgic character of the tango and Mulligan seems to understand that feeling perfectly. Mighty Mo Rodgers & Baba Sissoko.

It is a story of two great musicians who met in Lithuania. Blues musician Mighty Mo Rodgers (USA) and the guardian of the old African Griot traditions, Baba Sissoko (Mali) found an interface in their Griot Blues sound.
Baba Sissoko does not speak English and Mighty Mo Rodgers does not speak French or Italian. But who cares about language when there is music. This album originated from the human soul, where boundaries disappear. And where the Blues musician felt his roots and welcomed the Griot storyteller de Blues. 3MA arose from the meeting of three musicians that symbolize three African countries (Madagascar, Morocco and Mali). Since their debut in 2008, they meet regularly to give 3MA concerts worldwide and over the years new ideas have arisen and refined, creating new compositions or rearranging existing ideas. Percussionist Khalid Kouhen plays on two tracks with his Pakistani percussions and Indian tablas. But while we never lose sight of the rich traditions that Ballaké Sissoko, Driss El Maloumi and Rajery embody, we hear above all a shared message of 3MA, a message that calls forth against the violence of our world, with their soft and stimulating harmonies, vital energy and universal poetry.
