If you read the music titles of this broadcast, you wouldn’t expect this to be ‘classical’ music: Unchained Melody, Powerhouse, Elevator Music, Inflight Entertainment. This is exactly what Australian composer Graeme Koehne is aiming at. The titles reflect his interest in examples of ‘low’ culture, for instance pop songs from the 1950’s, cartoons and filmsoundtracks. But what we hear is definitely not calm background music.
