Albert Nicholas (1900-1972), was one of the great clarinet players from New Orleans. He studied in New Orleans with father and son Lorenzo Tio and then moved to Chicago in 1924. There he worked with King Oliver. After an international tour he came to New York in 1928, where he made numerous records, chiefly with various studio groups. This continued in the 1940s.
