Featured in this episode are two vocalists who have remained relatively unknown and who have only made a few recordings. Lucy Reed (1921-1998) primarily sang in clubs in Chicago and made an album together with pianist Bill Evans in 1955. Frank Minion (1929) only made two albums of which the second was largely comprised of his own pieces, along with three songs where he was accompanied by pianist Bill Evans; these will be played in this episode.
