Series Jordi Savall

thu 7 nov 2019 12:00 hrs

Series about and with Catalan gambist and conductor Jordi Savall.

In 2017, Savall dedicated a number of performances to the world of baroque dance. His new CD ‘Terpischore’ contains six compositions of late 17th and early 18th-century composers Jean-Féry Rebel and George Philipp Telemann. They consist of short, fragmented courtly ballets which offer a great variety of sounds and feel. It was a world of dance and elegance in which, also in those days, women triumphed as solo dancers.
