Ready for take off with the Palace? To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the KLM on 7 October, this hour will be full of ‘flight’ music: The Young Sinatra’s (‘Come fly with me’), Bob Scholte sings about the Pelican (based on the historical Amsterdam-Batavia return flight to deliver the Christmas mail by a plane called the Pelican in December 1933).

Lous Davids sings about the even more famous Uiver, which won the London-Melbourne Rae, Max Tailleur (‘Ga met de KLM naar Holland’), Wim Sonneveld (‘Ja, we vliegen!’),

Also featuring Steve White (‘My new jet plane’), Greetje Kauffeld (‘Stewardess’), Charlie Parker (‘Constellation’), Frank Sinatra (‘It’s nice to go traveling’), Ella Fitzgerald (‘Flying Home’), Albert Bol (‘The ELTA-Vlieglied’).

Last but not least: The Jimmy Halperin Trio, Matt Dennis, Jo Stafford, Lia Dorana, ‘the Hindenburg disaster’ and founder of KLM Albert Plesman.
