Blues that will make you happy
Blues has always been to express deep feelings in hard times. But it can also help lift one’s spirits. Take harmonica player Corkie Siegel [see picture], for example. Working together with a string quartet, he found a way to transform blues into happy-go-lucky chamber music.
And then there is the Dirty Dozen Brass Band from New Orleans [pictured below]. They’re a traditional jazz funeral band, not a happy occassion for sure, but just listen to the music. Doesn’t it make you want to get up and dance?
