In today’s episode of Concertzender Live Archive, two recordings of music by Dmitri Shostakovich. We start with a recording from 1991 of a concert by the New Amsterdam Sinfonietta at the Main Hall of the Concertgebouw. You’ll hear Chamber Symphony, opus 118a, which was arranged from String Quartet No. 10, followed by Symphony No. 14.
In the second recording you’ll hear The Hermitage String Quartet perform Shostakovich’ String Quartet No. 4 at the Koepelkerk in Veenhuizen in 2018.
