Anton Bruckner lived in times of the large symphonies, and he certainly contributed his bit. He wrote no less than eight finished symphonies, and an unfinished one. In this programme, you hear two fantastic orchestras with great conductors: the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Pierre Boulez and het Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
