Old and new French music.
In memoriam Juliette Gréco (1927-2020).
She was the muse of existentialism in the forties and fifties of last century; Jean-Paul Sartre and Raymond Queneau wrote texts for her. Later, she sang songs of Jacques Brel and Serge Gainsbourg, when they were still completely unknown. Her career covered about seventy years. In 2016, during her farewell tour, she suffered a brain haemorrhage.
Half a year before, she had still been giving very successful performances at the ‘Nacht voor de Poëzie’ (Night for Poetry) in Utrecht, and in Carré in Amsterdam.
