Michael Moore (1954, Eureka, California) graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1977. By the end of the 1970s, Michael Moore came to Europe with the band Available Jelly, and not much later he settled in Amsterdam. Here, and outside the Netherlands, he takes active part in all sorts of projects, including Available Jelly, which still exists, the Instant Composers Pool, and trio Jewels and Binoculars with bass player Lindsey Horner and drummer Michael Vatcher (point of departure are songs of Bob Dylan). In many projects, short-lived or long-lasting, he takes charge, also with his compositions. Moore is member of Trio Clusone with cellist Ernst Reijseger and drummer Han Bennink. In 1986, he won the VPRO/Boy Edgar Award. In 1991, he started his own label, Ramboy Records. Moore has played together with an untold number of musicians in the Netherlands and abroad.
