Sumeet Anand Pandey is a 10th generation singer of Dhrupad, a genre of Hindustani classical music dating back to the 15th century and the oldest form of Indian classical music still alive. Based on original documentation, there is no Indian heritage that has stood the test of time so far.
Originally for meditative, spiritual and religious purposes, the ancient Dhrupad scriptures are often praised for the Almighty. As the art form progressed, it was adopted by more and more groups and eventually became popular at the courts of the Mughal emperors.
