Walking through the oeuvre of Frank Bridge (1879-1941). In part VII we will hear in his Second String Quartet that Bridge was looking for new ways to express himself that were more suitable for the horrific reality of the First World War. This also applies to his magnificent but desolate cello sonata. We end with a poem that was set to music from Rupert Brooke about millions of young soldiers who fell in battle.
