Concertzender Live

Compiled by our Classical Music desk.

The Loeki Stardust Quartet have gotten bigger and more famous than the four musicians from Amsterdam could have ever hoped for.

They have impacted music life for thirty years with their fixed combination of old repertoire and groundbreaking modern compositions. The guys toured a lot in the Netherlands and abroad. Even Princess Beatrix was interested in their music. Today, we’ll listen to two of their concerts; the first concert is from 1984 – it’s one of their oldest concerts we have – and the second concert is from 2004. Both concerts have their own theme, but the key formula didn’t change: renaissance and baroque were alternated with music by the newest generation of composers; they even played pop music.
