1-
You will hear field recordings from 1979 made by the Belgian ethnomusicologist Herman Vuylsteke in Colombo and Ambalangoda. The album presents two types of folk theater that are disappearing: the Nadagama opera and the kolam masked theater.

2-  Khamvong Insixiengmai is an American singer from Laos, skilled in the music styles of the Lao regions of northeastern Thailand. The ensemble consists of vocals, a khene player and the occasional lute and percussion. The music thrives on improvisation, especially the singer’s lyrical content, and the songs are about life and hope for the future. It also has something that jazz musicians often refer to as ‘swing’, which is to anticipate the beat that is especially noticeable in khene playing.
Cd. Bamboo voices: folk music from Laos, Khamvong Insixiengmai Ensemble. Label: Music of The World (1996), code: LT 50601 | VIDEO
