A whole night filled with jazz. This episode is dedicated to percussionists who are also the bandleader.
The Night: Jazz is jazz from Jordy de Muijnk’s collection. The first half of the night is dedicated to percussionists who recently released an album as the bandleader. We’ll start with Andrew Cyrille and the CD Lebroba. He was born in 1939, and he still is one of the great innovators in percussion. He had played with pianist Cecil Taylor for years, and he still is, despite his old age, one of the most loved and frequently asked drummers in mainstream jazz.
