Western religious music from different centuries. Today, one day after the Dutch Liberation Day, this programme will be dedicated to the theme “War and Peace”.
Händel composed his ‘Utrecht Jubilate’ during the celebration of Peace of Utrecht in 1713.
Haydn wrote his ‘Missa in tempore belli’ (Paukenmesse) in 1796 under the pressure of an invasion from Austria by Napoleon’s troops.
