Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) ‘Half Monk, Half Rascal’ – Part 3
In this third part of the four-part series on Francis Poulenc, you will hear the full story about the elephant Babar. On this historical recording, you will hear Pierre Bernac recite the story in his own inimitable way, with Francis Poulenc playing the piano. This part also features some Dutch singers who were taught by Bernac, and thus came very close to Poulenc. These singers are Elly Ameling, Meinard Kraak and of course Bernard Kruysen, who also performed with Poulenc.
