In this series, we’ll listen to music that was composed one hundred years ago. This episode is dedicated to music from France.
We will listen to a piece by Darius Milhaud, which was strongly influenced by Brazilian rhythms; this piece was conducted by Darius Milhaud himself. After that, we’ll listen to two pieces by the progressive Edgard Varèse: two songs for soprano and chamber orchestra, and the grand Amériques.
