An educational programme featuring early music.

Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, who died 400 years ago. Episode 4: The students from Hamburg.

Not only did Sweelinck have several Dutch students, but he was also the reason that a Hamburg organ and composing school became the most famous of the 17th century; it took him 15 years to do that. Four of his most important students were Samuel Scheidt, Melchior Schildt, Heinrich Scheidemann, and Jacob Praetorius.
