Tonight’s episode is the second broadcast on saxophonist/clarinet player Nat Birchall.
He mainly heard ska and reggae during his childhood in the North of England. Through the Jamaican saxophonists in that music, he eventually discovered spiritual jazz, cosmic jazz. Pharoah Sanders and John Coltrane are obvious sources of inspiration. Truly heartwarming.
