The Wayward Prokofiev. A docudrama about one of the most prominent and independent composers of the 20th century.
Every fortnight, “The Wayward Prokofiev” dedicates one hour to the life and works of the Russian 20th-century composer Sergei Prokofiev, undoubtedly one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. Today’s episode features his first ballet “Chout” from 1920. It took blood, sweat and tears to get the work performed – it took him six years – and a certain man named Diaghilev has everything to do with that.
