Music from The Hybrides
Like me, you have probably never heard of them, and that may be true. The Hybrids are an idea of the Norwegian accordionist and banjo player Stian Carstensen: an imaginary archipelago somewhere in the Baltic Sea. The fact that the music that seems to come from there sounds quite familiar has everything to do with this Norwegian’s love of Bulgarian tradition. This love was also openly professed on a previous album – Speed Balkan Boogie.
