Concerts from around the country, recorded by Concertzender
Today in Concertzender Live Classical, you will hear a combination of two recitals as they took place in the Leeuwenberghkerk in Utrecht in 2012. At the time, the church served as a replacement for the small hall of Muziekcentrum Vredenburg, which was being renovated at the time.
Lisa Ferschtman, the Dutch violinist of Russian origin, enchants you with various sonatas by Mozart, Schumann, Hindemith and Prokofiev. She will be accompanied by Enrico Pace, the Dutch pianist of Italian origin. Next, you can listen to the renowned Brodsky Quartet in the second hour, which plays Shostakovich’s equally renowned String Quartet No. 8. A dramatic sequence of deeply sad movements. To conclude, the Brodsky Quartet play the seemingly cheerful but extremely serious Quartettsatz, a separate part of an unfinished string quartet by Schubert.
