Episode 973. This Bach week focuses on the Festival Oude Muziek 2021. Today’s focus is on Bach’s Kaffeekantate that will be performed twice a day at the festival.
The Kaffeekantate BWV 211 will be performed almost daily at the festival by ĀRT HOUSE 17 with male soprano Philipp Mathmann and baritone Dietrich Henschel.
Performances on 31 August and 1 – 5 September 2021, in the morning in the Paardenkathedraal and in the afternoon outside on the streets of Utrecht.
Later this hour we will hear another performance of BWV 211, that of Masaaki Suzuki, but first we will hear the soloists performing in the festival production.
