The trilogy albums from Chick Corea (1941-2021)
Chick Corea: who doesn’t know him? In februari 2021 one of the most influential pianists jazz ever had known passed away. After playing with nearly every thinkable jazz musician with a name, he would tour around the world with bass player Christian McBride and drummer Brian Blade in the hayday of his active career. Trilogy and Trilogy 2 were released based on these performances from back in 2010-2016. Both albums were good enough to earn themselves a Grammy Award.
Tonight we pay a tribute to Chick Corea by integrally broadcasting his albums on the Concertzender. And to conclude the programme, we will let you listen to a couple of songs from the album Antidote from 2019. This album, that Corea recorded together with The Spanish Heart Band, is his last from his most impressive oeuvre.
