Chamber music by Schubert – Piano trios
We have another instalment of chamber music by Franz Schubert today. Amongst others, you will hear two piano trios – an abandoned attempt from his youth, when he was only fifteen years old, and a masterpiece from the year he died, 1828. Both trios are played by the renowned Beaux Arts Trio, in recordings from 1969. At the beginning and end of the programme, you will hear a young Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in four songs by Schubert. These are live recordings from the Salzburg Festival in August 1957.
