The ensemble is committed to preserving the musical tradition of Afghanistan after the cultural destruction by the Taliban. The repertoire ranges from the music of the different regions, peoples and ethnic groups living in Afghanistan to the popular songs of the peaceful times. The ensemble plays on traditional instruments, such as various lutes, harmonium, and the violin.
