The Great American Songbook

fri 29 apr 2022 17:00 hrs
Composer: Frank Loesser

Successful American jazz and light music of the 20th century, composed primarily from Broadway musicals, musical theater and Hollywood films.

The Music of Frank Loesser

This composer, born in New York in 1910, was first of all a lyricist for well-known Standards such as Tea For Two (Vincent Youmans), Heart And Soul (Hoagy Carmichael), On A Slowboat To China and I hear Music (Burton Lane), but around 1940 he began to compose as well, which led to a number of fantastic songs for which he wrote the lyrics himself, of course!
