In the scherzo of the String Quartet in G major, opus 43, by Pancho Vladigerov, clear references to the sometimes complex rhythmics of the folk music of his homeland can be heard.

The Second String Quartet, in G major, opus 22:2, by George Enescu was probably outlined somewhere around 1920, but only released by the composer in 1951. This quartet is set up as an extensive sonata form across the four movements. With the exposition in the first movement, the processing of the material in the second and third movements and the resumption of the themes, the recapitulation, in the finale.

Finally, the rousing finale of the Tryptique for string quartet from 1930 by the Polish-French composer Alexandre Tansman.
