Musical Romanticism, explored by Pieter de Oude.
A special recital by a special violinist: Kyung Wha Chung.
Today, she only teaches, but in the 1970s and 1980s she was well-known and already a legend. As a child prodigy and supported by the record industry, she made an appearance in the living rooms of music lovers all over the world.
These violin sonatas by Richard Strauss and Ottorino Respighi are not often performed, but in the hands of Kyung Wha Chung and master pianist Krystian Zimerman, they become masterpieces. Plus, two encores.
