Gorillaz: episode 6 (2017-2018).
After new albums by Damon Albarn solo and Blur, the Gorillaz project had been on hold for about five years by 2016. In the spring of 2012, Albarn still confidently claimed that he was done with the band, but in the autumn of 2014 he cautiously changed his mind… Rumours about new Gorillaz material started to circulate and one year later, following a tour with Blur, Albarn began recording a new Gorillaz album. Eventually, the album Humanz would be released in the spring of 2017. And so the band hit the road again with an accompanying world tour.
On today’s broadcast, we focus on Humanz and its successor, released a year later: The Now Now. Unlike its predecessor, this album was written and recorded in just a few months.
