Under the title Herreweghe’s Choice, conductor Philippe Herreweghe will be on the podium at The Concertgebouw on Jan. 23 (8:15 p.m.) to conduct his four favorite cantatas by Bach, together with Collegium Vocale Gent and four top soloists, including soprano Dorothee Mields and countertenor Alex Potter.
The four cantatas: Bleib bei uns, denn es will Abend werden; Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin; Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan and Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben.

with Rotterdam jazz saxophonist and composer Loek van den Berg. Characteristic in his music is his accessible and recognizable playing style, consisting of a lot of lyricism, interaction and swing with which he carries his audience along. Loek van den Berg likes to travel. Literally, but also in his music. And he likes to take his listener on that journey. For his song “Wayfarer” (traveler), he even received the award for Best Composition at the Dutch Jazz Competition in December.
