Pierre Boulez.
Pierre Boulez’s only string quartet, Livre pour quatuor, is one of the pieces he struggled the most to complete. He started it in 1948 and only in 2012 did he put a final double line, which wasn’t a real double line because the fourth movement was still missing. Nevertheless, it’s an impressive piece.
