Our guest Eric Vaarzon Morel plays music and tells us about his CD El Aguador i.e. De Waterdrager.
Today in Acoustic Roots in the Pieternel van de Pieterskerk in Utrecht, the Netherlands, the flamenco guitar player Eric Vaarzon Morel. Eric Vaarzon Morel (1961), son of painter Wim Vaarzon Morel, was at the age of sixteen student of Paco Peña at the 7th Rencontres de la guitare in France. Inspired by this event, he moved to Spain at the age of nineteen, where he lived and worked. In the eighties, he toured together with the Swiss group Flamencos through Europe. You can find the rest of his extensive CV on his website http://www.vaarzonmorel.com Eric Vaarzon is not only a great and strong flamenco guitar player, he is also a composer and arranger. With his last theatre project, the opera El Greco de Toledo, he received favourable reviews. During Acoustic Roots, Eric whill play a few songs from his new CD ‘El Aguador’ and he will amplify the compositions. The music on this CD is based on the theatrical production with the same name, which will be available in all theatres in the Netherlands, under the direction of Diederik van Vleuten.
