Programme-makers Karin van den Boogaert and Carolien Cleiren receive performers from all genres of the folk and world music in the ‘living room’ of the Concertzender. Their guests perform live and talk about their music.
On July 19 folk icon Fred Piek will be a guest in Acoustic Roots. He was the ‘voice’ of Dutch folkrock-formation Fungus, co-founder of the Amazing Stroopwafels (a.o known for their hit ‘Oude Maasweg’) and he made numerous solo albums with a.o. Lennaert Nijgh.
Recently he freshly collaborated with well-known folk singer Linde Nijland and multi-instrumentalist Bert Ridderbos. They will accompany him as guest on July 19.
The next Acoustic Roots will be on 16 August, in which Shishani Vranckx will make an appearance.
