AMERICAN HIGHWAYS #90: LANDSCAPES 11 “Night Peace”
Tonight’s show begins and ends with music of John Luther Adams. Also Henry Mancini, Buddy Kaye, Carlisle Floyd, Trevor Reed, Miles Davis, and Bob Dylan.
This is the eleventh musical show about the American Landscape. Most of the episodes in this series have focused on bombastic, showstopping symphonic works, but this one is very different. We are in a language which is introverted, rather than extroverted. Focussed and thoughtful; detailed; looking towards the inner self.
