Alexander Dargomizhsky II
Today, you hear the second and last episode on the Russian composer Alexander Dargomizhsky, who lived from 1813 to 1869.
For the greater part of his life, Dargomizhsky lived in St Petersburg. One of the series of works in which he expressed his love for this city, are the serenades for Chorus, which you hear in this broadcast. Besides, you hear two orchestral fantasies, and a few songs, sung by Sergei Leiferkus.
