Anadolu Havasi shows the diversity of all of Turkey’s musical genres and relates them to the historic and social context of the wider Turkish region. In this episode: music from the Aegean coastal area.
This episode is all about music from the Aegean coastal region of Turkey. This region is green, which is different from the inland area. Fertile river valleys and rocky coasts alternate mountains valleys and lakes. The variety in the landscape resonates in the music, that varies from drinking songs to warrior dances and lament songs from one of the last nomadic tribes of Turkey.
