Albert Schweitzer (1875–1965) was a Lutheran philosopher, musician, German physician and medical missionary. Besides his medical work in Africa he especially became famous through his philosophy about culture and ethics and as musician by his studies and interpretations on the organ and piano with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
