Podcast on Bach
Podcast over Bach, episode 13. In this episode of Bach & Co, we will continue our story on the St. Matthew Passion.
In the story of the St. Matthew Passion, we have come to the moment when Johann Sebastian Bach starts working. He gives instructions to Picander for the texts and continuously works on the St. Matthew Passion.
And Bach really takes it to heart with a double orchestra and double choir, even three choirs. He alternates instruments in an inimitable way. The result is impressive.
During this period, he argued with the local council who thought it was too expensive and wanted to cut down expenses.
