Podcast on Bach, episode 18
We will be guided by Govert Jan Bach’s Great Atlas of Bach and will travel on to Erfurt, the largest town in Thuringia, the city of Luther. With its great religious freedom and musical opportunities, it was an ideal place for the Bach family to settle. Johann Ambrosius Bach and the wealthy Elisabeth Låmmerhirt got married and started their family. Later they moved to Eisenach, and Johann Sebastian was born there in 1685.
This episode of Bach & Co will focus more on three recently released CDs.
Bob Van Der Ent [NL] (CD: Sonatas And Partitas For Violin Solo, Challenge Classics, CC72864),
Piotr Anderszewski [PL] (CD: The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book II BWV 870-893, Warner Classics, 0190295118754), en
