Govert Jan Bach’s weekday programme about the oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Episode 649. This week’s theme is the Lutheran Masses, the Missae Brevis.
Until Thursday we’ll broadcast a mass every day. Bach reused earlier pieces of cantatas for these masses (parodies).
Previous to every Missa Brevis you can hear a selection of music pieces which were used by Bach as a basis.
On Friday we close the week with a Missa Brevis by Johann Ludwig Bach.
