Frank Foster – The early years.
Tenor saxophone player Frank Foster joined Count Basie’s band in 1953 and remained a part of this orchestra for a long time, which he would even go on to lead after Basie passed away. Besides that, he made recordings with various groups, some of which under his own name. This time, a selection from the results of all that in the first half of the fifties.
