Tenor saxophone player Buddy Tate (1913-2001) became famous because of his broad sound and for being a member of Count Basies’ band for more than nine years.
From 1953, he formed, together with his own band, the house orchestra of the New York Celebrity for years. In addition, he recorded albums with groups in various compositions, among others for the Swingville label.
