Abchordis Ensemble: Stabat Mater

In this first crowd funded discographic project, Abchordis has chosen to record the Stabat Mater by Giacomo Sellitto in world premiere. Sellitto was a singing teacher and chapel master at the Collegio dei Nobili of Naples. His music is an example of the new style and musical creativity that made Naples renowned as the musical capital of Europe in the 1700’s.
Besides Sellitto, the disc presents other unpublished Neapolitan music recorded in world premiere: a Sinfonia and a Lectio Defunctorum for Soprano solo, Violins and Basso Continuo by Gennaro Manna.
