About composer, arranger and conductor André Popp who passed away on 10 May (1924-2014).
As conductor with Philips he left his mark on the more early recordings of Brel. And especially in the 1960s he composed many chansons, including the winning song festival song Tom Pilibi (Jacqueline Boyer, 1960) and the world famous L’amour est blue. With the experimental album ‘Delirium in Hi Fi’ (1957) he was way ahead of his time. Further we will play Marie Laforêt, Isabelle Aubret, Brigitte Bardot, Les Compagnons de la Chanson, Juliette Gréco, France Gall and Catherine Sauvage among others.
