Repertoire by Jules de Corte (1924 – 1996), who died 25 years ago this month.
De Corte wrote thousands of songs for radio shows he performed on, but only a small portion of them was actually recorded. Despite all of the awards he received during his career, he is, at most, known for the one classic piece: “Ik zou wel eens willen weten” (I would like to know someday). Nevertheless, his lyrics are still highly topical and his songs have not lost any eloquence.
Besides De Corte himself, we will also hear his son Ernst, accompanied by pianist Guus Westdorp, Frits Lamsbrechts and Gerard Cox.
