Part 2 of a three-part series on the Russian singer and actor Vladimir Vysotsky (1938-1980).
Despite his raw, socio-critical texts, Vysotsky was tolerated by the Soviet regime. Party leader Brezhnev is even said to have secretly belonged to his large circle of admirers.
Vysotski was married to the Frenchwoman Marina Vlady and also occasionally sang in French himself.
