Albert Nicholas (1900-1972) was one of the great clarinet players from New Orleans. He studied in New Orleans with father and son Lorenzo Tio. He then moved to Chicago in 1924 and later to New York where he made numerous records. At first together with the orchestras of King Oliver and Luis Russell and later mostly with studio groups. In 1953 he went to Europe and worked there as a freelancer, among other places in the Netherlands, we will play some of the recordings for you from that time.
